Contraindication for massage

Who shouldn't get a massage?


Massage can relax the muscles and make you feel better. However, there are certain cases in which it should not get a massage due to a risks or possible injury and serious symptom.

There is a list of contraindications to massage that must be taken into account before starting treatment

 

 

What kind of medication that possible to massage contraindication?

Why no massage for pacemakers?
Why no massage for thrombosis?

When the Pregnancy women could have a massage? and some cases are not, why not? 

What is skin condition should not get a massage, why?

If you are unsure whether massages are contraindicated for you, it is best to ask your doctor in advance!

 

 

Massage Contraindication (EN )

1.     Osteoporosis/Arthritis/ Steroids: For older people or those lacking bone strength firm pressure can result in fractures, no massage for Severe Osteoporosis has history of bone fracture,
2.     Cancer or Tumor: Massage’s effect of improving circulation can cause the spread of cancerous cells further to other parts of the body. Please consult your Oncological doctor before book a massage.
3.     No massage on the wounds or areas and Skin infection area
4.     Fever: more than 38 Celsius together with weakness, increasing circulation can spread the infections further into the blood stream.
5.     No shower after Massage, please wait until the body cool down.
6.     No massage on Injury or Sprains area, or any symptom with inflammation (pain, swelling, redness, warm or heat around injury area)
7.     Surgeries area please consult your physician, no massage for client under medication or anticoagulant.
8.     Not take off all brace, support or and special legging during massage, because we do not massage this area also the joint that related with this injury,
9.     No massage Pregnancy until 4 months, and no massage on the client has problem with movement and Varicose Veins:
10.  High BP (Blood Pressure): massage results in increasing BP slightly. Therefore, anyone with a BP exceeding 150 Mg must be avoided, unless their BP is normal with or without medication. Also, avoid pressing and stopping any artery points.
11.  Hernia: Hernias In the abdominal and inguinal area can recur when working or stretching the area, Disc herniate on the neck or lumbar area must wait until the inflammation down, no massage for client has weakness leg or arm, limited walking, please consult your physiotherapist.
12.  No massage on the joint for Gout / Rheumatism: no pulling, cracking in places and joints where there is pain.
13.  No Massage for Heart Disease/ Cerebral strokes/ High Cholesterol/ Diabetes: who can’t control the condition, especially Thai massage we do not perform any artery blocks (opening the wind gate) as this can result in dislodging plaque deposits or clots and moving them to arteries that supply blood to the heart or brain.
14.  No foot massage in diabetic people, because Diabetics tend to have weaker blood vessels walls, specially distal area, foot and hand finger, please inform us about your skin disease.
15.  In the case of varicose veins blood vessels have hardened and twisted, working with intense pressure on those areas can cause the walls to rupture.
16.  Heart Disease/ Cerebral strokes/ High Cholesterol: Do not perform any artery blocks (opening the wind gate) as this can result in dislodging plaque deposits or clots and moving them to arteries that supply blood to the heart or brain.
17.  No massage for Cerebral complications, hemorrhages/ strokes
18.  No Massage for kids-or teen under 18 years, except together with their parent
